Word from Jerusalem March April 2025

March/April 2025 edition

The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem has long-standing relationships with the leaders of the Israeli communities and regional councils along the Gaza border. Over recent decades, we have provided these picturesque farming villages with dozens of portable bomb shelters, fire-fighting vehicles, and other emergency equipment to withstand the rocket and arson attacks from terror militias in Gaza. But after they suffered so greatly during the October 7 massacres, their needs have drastically changed.

As a result, the ICEJ has committed to at least six major rebuilding and renovation projects aimed at helping them restore their communal life, particularly in the areas of trauma care and addressing the special needs of the most vulnerable individuals, including children and the elderly. In fact, this is the most ambitious series of building projects that the ICEJ has ever undertaken at one time. Find out more information about these initiatives and how you can help in this issue of the Word From Jerusalem.

We also announce exciting news about this year’s Feast of Tabernacles that you do not want to miss! The Feast will be held from 6 to 10 October under the theme “Ten from Every Nation”. Read all about it in ICEJ President Dr. Jürgen Bühler’s commentary on pages 4- 5 and plan to join us in Jerusalem this year!

Plus, we feature a recent biblical teaching on God’s enduring love relationship with Israel from Rev. Ingolf Ellßel, chairman of the ICEJ’s international Board of Trustees.

Residents of the Haifa Home for Holocaust survivors always have activities to look forward to, including their regular social events, enjoyable physiotherapy classes, and Hebrew lessons. Soon, these survivors will also have the opportunity to enjoy some delightful pampering. For the latest updates from the Haifa Home, see pages 18 and 19 to learn more about this new initiative.

Meanwhile, every interaction that ICEJ Homecare has with elderly Jewish immigrants is filled with love and comfort. Discover the significance of “bread and butter” as an elderly Holocaust survivor shares her story with our Homecare team on page 22.

Our international pages highlight the impact of our ICEJ branch offices in their respective countries. Read more about events recently organised by ICEJ branches in Ireland, Cuba, Peru and France, and consider connecting with an ICEJ branch in your nation. The ICEJ has branches and representatives in over 95 countries, and supporters in more than 185 nations worldwide, connecting Christians all across the globe with Israel.
