January/February edition

Discover the latest insights and updates on Israel from the heart of Jerusalem with the January/February edition of our Word from Jerusalem magazine!

Entering this new year, the ICEJ is fully committed to supporting the people of Israel as the country slowly emerges victorious from a multi-front war. ICEJ Senior Vice President & Spokesman David Parsons provides an in-depth regional review of the war in our Current Affairs pages.

Despite the war, Israel has seen a boom in Jewish immigrants making Aliyah to their ancestral homeland, and the ICEJ is passionate about bringing even more Jews home in 2025. Last year, the Christian Embassy assisted over 3,200 Jewish immigrants, roughly ten percent of those making the journey home to Israel, and we plan to build on that accomplishment this year.

Remember to save the dates of 6-13 October when this year’s Feast of Tabernacles will be held in Jerusalem under the theme ‘Ten from Every Nation’. Find out more about this year’s theme and the concept of the righteous remnant in a Bible commentary by David Parsons featured on pages 4-5.

ICEJ President Dr. Jürgen Bühler also encourages us to ‘Hold Fast to the Jewish Jesus’ as he shares from 2 John in his teaching on page 6.

This issue is also overflowing with updates on projects from our AID department, which has been especially busy with support for rebuilding projects in the Gaza border region so impacted by the October 7 massacres. Read about how Kibbutz Be’eri children now have kindergarten furniture and a playground Gymboree installed in their temporary school in Hatzerim. Also, we cover how our sponsorship of an animal therapy project is playing an important role in helping traumatised Israeli children heal from the mental and emotional wounds of this war.

Meanwhile, among the recent activities at our Home for Holocaust survivors in Haifa, a new resident shares his personal story of surviving the Nazis and finding happiness in our warm, loving community. And ICEJ Homecare continues to inspire joy and brighten days for elderly Jewish immigrants to Israel. Plus, the international pages highlight the differences ICEJ branches are making for Israel and the Jewish people in countries around the world.

May you be blessed and encouraged as you read through this global edition of the Word from Jerusalem magazine.
