Huckabee Headlines Tour to Israel
Published on: 14.5.2021Former US presidential candidate and Fox News show host Mike Huckabee is headlining a tour of some 170 American Christians visiting Israel this week as part of a 10-day tour that along includes singer and actor Pat Boone and his wife Shirley. On Wednesday, the group received a warm reception at Yad Vashem courtesy of the museum’s new Christian Desk, established in partnership with the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem. Former MK Rabbi Benny Elon was on hand to conduct a joint service with Huckabee in the Yad Vashem synagogue. Earlier this week, the bass player Huckabee and singer Boone were joined by Fox News Jerusalem correspondent and guitarist Mike Tobin for a spontaneous jam session at the David Citadel Hotel. “It was loads of fun,” said Boone, now 75 and a long-time promoter of pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Janet Huckabee also requested that Boone sing his famous song “Theme to Exodus” that he wrote for the movie Exodus starring Paul Newman. “It’s a demanding song to sing, but I made it through and it seemed so appropriate,” said Boone. Huckabee’s entourage also included Cong. Bob McEwen from Ohio and Mathew Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel.
