Fiji delegation in Jerusalem march

Day Five of the Feast of Tabernacles kicked off on Thursday with a series of morning seminars in the Jerusalem Pais Arena, featuring messages from Israeli pastors Peter Tsukahira and Benjamin Berger, Rev. Malcolm Hedding from the USA, and Sergey Shidlovsky from Estonia, while the worship band Kedesch from Côte d’Ivoire ushered us into the Lord’s presence.

As the morning seminars ended, all the Feast pilgrims hurried to get ready for the ever-popular Jerusalem March in the afternoon, when thousands of Christians take to the streets of Jerusalem to express their love and support for the nation and people of Israel. There was a festive atmosphere as many pilgrims adorned in traditional national costumes interacted with the crowds of Israelis watching along the parade route.

ICEJ President Dr. Jürgen Bühler was invited to join Jerusalem’s Mayor Moshe Lion in officially opening the Jerusalem March.

“What a joy for our Christian pilgrims to be back in the Jerusalem March greeting Israelis along the streets of the capital city after two years of corona travel restrictions.” ICEJ President Dr. Jürgen Bühler told Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion as they led off the March in the afternoon. “People who came now after two-and-a-half years of COVID say they are amazed at how much Jerusalem has changed.”

“Yes, there is no argument that Jerusalem in these days is under big development in all areas,” responded Mayor Lion. “But I must tell you we missed you these two years. And now you came here to the March, and we are very happy to host you.”

Peyman from Iran

Peyman Motjtahedi, an Iranian exile who now is a singer and worship leader in a large church in Dallas, Texas shared: “It was beautiful to represent my country in the Jerusalem March today. That was a very important part of my first visit ever to Israel, and I was thrilled to see the amazing reaction of Jewish people I met along the route. When I told them I loved them as an Iranian, they were shocked. Several people had tears in their eyes, especially the Persian Jews who recognized my flag.”

Pastor Manasa Kolivuso from Fiji was also at the march and felt so blessed by the experience. “It was such a treat for me to meet all the Israelis today along the March route and to tell them we support and pray for them. This is my first time to Israel, and we are already talking about chartering a whole flight from Fiji next year.”

The ICEJ Feast delegation waved their country flags as they marched to a celebratory rhythm in the streets, while some blessed local Israelis with tokens of love and appreciation. “We came to Jerusalem today to bless Israel. We believe that whoever blesses Israel will be blessed in his life. We are here with an ICEJ group of 86 nations. I believe one day all the nations will be represented here to express their love for Israel. We are handing bookmarks to children with the flag of Israel and the flag and colors from our nation, to express our appreciation for the Jewish people. On the bookmark it reads: We bless you from South Africa,” enthusiastically shared Daniel and Xolani from South Africa.

While Galina, a local Israeli along the route shared: “I have no words for how it touches me, all the people supporting us, believing in us and our G-d, our Scriptures, our capital and country!”
